Boeing AH-64 Apache is a mid-size helicopter. It can reach a top speed of 153 knots, which is 5.5 percent faster than the average mid-size helicopter. It is powered by 2 General Electric T700-GE-701D turbine engines. Its maximum altitude ceiling is 12,685 feet, which is 4,085 feet higher than average for its class! This 4-blade attack helicopter comes with a tailwheel-type landing gear arrangement and a tandem cockpit for a two-man crew.

4) NHIndustries NH90-NFH ($39 million)

 This mid-size helicopter is used for military operations. It is 394 percent more expensive than the average for its class. This helicopter is powered by 2 Rolls Royce Turbomecca (RTM 322-01/9 or RTM 322-01/9A enhanced version) or 2 General Electric (GE T700/T6E1 or CT7-8F5 enhanced version) engines. It was developed in response to NATO’s requirements for a battlefield helicopter which could also be operated in naval environments. This helicopter is manufactured by NHIndustries, which is wholly owned by Airbus Helicopters, AugustaWestland and Fokker Aerostructures.
